Children soldiers : Homework

A. The photographs : 1) Describe each separately .Do not forget to describe the children's expressions. (look  up the accurate adjectives in your dictionary if you do not know them!)

B. The testimonies : there are 4 testimonies. 
1) Explain in a line or two where each child comes from (look places up in a dictionary or on the Internet) and what you know about his identity. (name, age...)

2) Two of the children were recruited by the Mayi-Mayi . Find basic information on that insurgent group and explain who they are. ( 50 words)

3)Answer the following questions :
a. Why did Jacques decide to join the Mayi-Mayi?
b. What were the living conditions with the group?
c. How did his 11-year old friend die?
d.What about Jasmine? Did she choose to join the Mayi-Mayi?
e.How were  the girls treated by the rebels? 
f. What do we learn about her personal fate? Give details.
g. How was J.K. recruited? 
h. What  was his responsibility ,what was he asked to do?
i.  How is he now? 

4) Translate Testimony B (introduction + the boy's words).
